My mother bought a very strange digital camera for my father some months ago. He never got used to it as it's a quite small toy-like camera with no LCD screen whatsoever and for which you need to be slightly computer literate to manage to see the pictures taken (my father isn't and my mother scarcely knows how to check her mails). So, finally, an old analog one, which had belonged to my brother long long time ago, showed up out of the blue (out of a drawer, to be more precise) and this seemed to fulfilled my father's desires (he never could (under)stand the digital stuff) and everyone was happy at home. Now, it's up to him to realize whether or not he's really interested in taking pictures by now but, meanwhile, I got the small digital camera to test it.
It produces colour saturated and highly contrasted images with lots of grain. Sometimes they look as though they were stills from a super-8 film (their highest resolution quality is 640x480!) and they've got this kind of appeal of an old image of the fifties or sixties. Well, I just took some pictures at home tonight but I'll try and have it with me for a couple of days to see what I can get out of it.
